01 Who We Are

The Acadevo is an international language academy and university admissions consultancy operating under Techwise IT Solutions, a company incorporated in India.

For the purposes of DPDPA 2023, Techwise IT Solutions is the Data Fiduciary. For the purposes of UAE PDPL, we are the Controller.

We collect personal data in the following categories, depending on your interaction with us:

03 How We Use Your Data

We use personal data only for specific, clearly stated purposes:

• Service Delivery: To deliver language coaching, TACIF career assessments, university admissions guidance, and 360° support services you have enrolled in or enquired about.
• Assessment Reports: Academic and career data is processed through our AI-assisted TACIF pipeline to generate personalised career intelligence reports. This processing uses OpenAI's API (see Section 5).
• Communications: To respond to enquiries, send session confirmations, share progress updates, and provide service-related notifications.
• Marketing (with consent): To send information about new courses, programmes, events, and offers, only where you have given explicit consent or are an existing student. You may opt out at any time.
• University Applications: With your explicit consent, to share relevant academic data with partner universities as part of the admissions process.
• Legal Compliance: To comply with legal obligations under Indian and UAE law, including record-keeping requirements.
• Analytics and Improvement: Aggregated, anonymised data may be used to improve our services and website experience.

04 Legal Basis for Processing

05 Third-Party Processors

We engage the following third-party processors who may process your personal data on our behalf. All are bound by data processing agreements and industry-standard security obligations.

We do not permit third-party processors to use your data for their own marketing or commercial purposes.

06 Children's Data

A significant portion of The Acadevo's students are under 18 years of age. We take the protection of children's data extremely seriously.

• Parental or guardian consent is obtained for all students under 18 before any personal data is collected or processed. Consent is obtained electronically via a dedicated checkbox in our Google Form intake process, with a timestamp recorded.
• We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 without verified parental consent.
• Assessment data for students under 18 is never shared with third parties beyond those listed in Section 5 without fresh, explicit parental consent.
• Parents and guardians have the right to review, correct, or request deletion of their child's data at any time by contacting our Grievance Officer (Section 13).
• In compliance with Section 9 of DPDPA 2023, we do not process children's data for behavioural tracking or targeted advertising.

07 Data Retention

After the applicable retention period, data is securely deleted or anonymised. You may request earlier deletion — see Section 8.

08 Your Rights

Under DPDPA 2023 (India) and UAE PDPL, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Right of Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Right to Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Right to Erasure: Request deletion of your data, subject to legal retention obligations.
• Right to Withdraw Consent: Withdraw consent for any processing based on consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
• Right to Grievance Redressal: Lodge a complaint with our Grievance Officer (Section 13). Under DPDPA 2023, you may also escalate to the Data Protection Board of India.
• Right to Nominate: Nominate another individual to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of death or incapacity (DPDPA 2023).

Response time: We will respond to all data rights requests within 15 working days of receipt.

09 Cookies

Our website uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to improve your experience. We use the following types:

• Strictly Necessary Cookies: Required for the website to function. Cannot be disabled.
• Analytics Cookies (Google Analytics): Help us understand how visitors use the site — pages visited, time on site, device type. These cookies are set only with your consent via our cookie banner.
• Preference Cookies: Remember your choices such as language and region settings.

You may manage or disable non-essential cookies via your browser settings at any time. Note that disabling analytics cookies does not affect your ability to use the website.

10 Cross-Border Data Transfers

As an India-UAE business using international cloud services, some of your data may be transferred outside India and the UAE — specifically to the United States (OpenAI, Google).

These transfers are made under the following safeguards:

• Data Processing Agreements with all processors meeting DPDPA 2023 and UAE PDPL adequacy requirements
• Standard Contractual Clauses where required
• Transfers to OpenAI use their zero-data-retention API endpoint — data is not used to train OpenAI models

By using our services, you acknowledge that your data may be processed in these jurisdictions.

11 Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, alteration, or disclosure. These include:

• Access controls — only authorised staff may access student data
• HTTPS encryption on all web communications
• Google Workspace with two-factor authentication for internal data storage
• Regular review of data access logs
• Staff training on data handling responsibilities

In the event of a data breach that poses a risk to your rights, we will notify the relevant authority and affected individuals within the timeframes required by applicable law.

12 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services, applicable law, or best practice. When we make material changes, we will:

• Update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page
• Notify current students and registered users by email
• Where required by law, obtain fresh consent

We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of our services after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
